Having crossed paths over the years through their existing touring projects, Alex Maas (The Black Angels), Tom Furse (The Horrors), Rishi Dhir (Elephant Stone) and John Mark Lapham (The Earlies) have formed a psychedelic supergroup named MIEN. Their debut single 'Black Habit' comes alongside news of an upcoming self-titled album, which will be released by psych label royalty Rocket Recordings on the 6th of April. As you might expect, 'Black Habit' is an accomplished piece, which oozes attitude. Propelled by a perfectly executed classic Krautrock drum beat, Furse's oscillating electronics dart wildly around that thundering fuzzed-out bass line and and Maas' distinctive Mary Chain-esque snarl. We'll be crossing our fingers for some live shows, but for now we're more than happy to get lost in MIEN's trippy sonic bubble. -HLMX
